School Uniform

back to the parents' page

The school actively encourages all pupils to wear school uniform.  School sweatshirts, T- shirts, polo-shirts, blue shorts etc. may be purchase through the school. We tend to place an order periodically, as then we avoid paying postage. Parents can, however, order on an individual basis. These items are available in red and navy. Order forms are kept on the notice board in the veranda. Forms should then be given to Mrs Edwards in the school office.

We also encourage parents to purchase uniform skirts or trousers from local firms; these can be black, navy or grey. It is a good idea if the parents of older children first find out the colour of the uniform of the secondary school that their child will attend. In the summer, girls can purchase gingham dresses locally in either red of navy.

Trainers should only be worn for PE. PE kit should be kept in a drawstring bag, which is hung on a peg at school. PE kits are to be brought to school each Monday morning, to remain in school until Friday when they are brought home. Children will, at times, participate in activities that are messy, and, although we encourage them to wear protective overalls, we cannot guarantee that they will return home in pristine conditions.

Please send young children with shoes that they can get on and off easily. Sandals may be worn in summer but please ensure that all footware is sensible and safe for play, no heeled shoes please. All clothing worn to school should be clearly marked with the child’s name and this should be checked regularly to make sure that it hasn’t washed out.
